Welcome to the Hereford Allotments and Leisure Gardeners Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

The Hereford Allotment and Leisure Gardeners (HALGS) manage around 440 allotment plots across 9 sites for Hereford Council. We deal with all membership details, collect plot rents and generally manage the sites.

Allotmenting attracts a wide cross section of our community, brought together by a love of gardening and growing. Levels of experience vary, from beginners and experienced gardeners, young and old, sharing tips and advice throughout the seasons. All sorts of people have allotments – and all sorts of crops are grown, we are proud of our diverse allotment culture in Hereford. It’s a very friendly pastime, people are very helpful, it keeps you fit, is a great stress buster and gives you great things to eat and share.

Most plots are in constant use, some members have had plots for decades. For aspiring allotmenteers, it is worth bearing in mind that decisions on giving up plots tend to happen at the end of the growing season, in November/December each year. New plot holders usually take over from January onwards.
